Over the summer I heard about people sitting in the dark because they couldn’t afford both light and heat and another about people in India needing to turn the lights off to leave enough energy for the AC to keep them alive. Shortly afterwards the news was rolling coverage of the fairy tale fantasy cosplay surrounding Queen Elizabeth’s death. Then coverage about the failure of COP27 was almost immediately forgotten in the excitement surrounding a world cup hosted by another repressive regime.

The billionaire media are keeping people in the dark about people sitting in the dark. This song is about that willful ignorance and its consequences. There are also massive beats, glitches and vocal harmonies.
